Ildar Abdrazakov was born on September 26, 1976 in Ufa, Russia. Encouraged by his artist parents like his brother Askar, Ildar Abdrazakov studied at the Ufa Institute of the Arts. After that, Ildar Abdrazakov joined the Bashkir State Opera troupe. In 1998, Ildar Abdrazakov made his debut at the Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg in the title role of Mozart’s Marriage of Figaro. Then in 2000, he won the International Maria Callas Competition in Parma, which opened the doors to La Scala in Milan in 2001, where he sang Rodolfo in La Somnambule by Bellini. Ildar Abdrazakov has established himself as one of the most appreciated bass voices in opera, his powerful yet so refined voice coupled with his fascinating stage presence have won him many accolades from critics.
