Veronica Simeoni
Born in Rome, Veronica Simeoni studied singing at the Conservatorio di Musica di Adria, the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Sienna, the Institut Vecchi-Tonelli in Modena and the State University in Sofia. Simeoni is a regular guest at the Zurich Opera House in productions of Don Carlo as Eboli, Anna Bolen as Giovanna Seymour and Aida as Amneris, among others. Her role repertoire also includes the parts of Adalgisa (Norma), Léonor (La Favorite), Marguerite (La Damnation de Faust) or Hedwige (Guillaume Tell). These roles have taken the opera singer in recent years to the opera houses of Milan, Valencia, Venice, New York, Turin, Munich and to the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro.
In the 2018/19 opera season, the mezzo-soprano made her debut at London’s Royal Opera House in Verdi’s star-studded masterpiece La forza del destino. She played the role of Preziosilla alongside Anna Netrebko, Jonas Kaufmann and Ludovic Tézier.
