Maria Nazarova,
Lisette Oropesa
Born in New Orleans in 1983, Lisette Oropesa is one of the most sought-after (coloratura) sopranos of her generation. With her extensive repertoire of roles, she is a guest on all the great stages of the world. The soprano with Cuban roots made her debut at the Metropolitan Opera New York, where she shone in the roles of Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro), Gilda (Rigoletto) and Nannetta (Falstaff). After numerous guest engagements in the United States, she has since conquered the European opera stages, from the Teatro Real in Madrid to the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, from the festival stages of the Arena di Verona to the Finnish Savonlinna. The soprano has also received much applause for her brilliant bel canto role of Lucia in Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor, with which she made her house debut at the Royal Opera House in London. At the International Opera Awards 2020 Lisette Oropesa was nominated in the category Female Singer.

Euridice opera - Juan Diego Flórez
Juan-Diego Flórez was born on January 13, 1973 in Lima. He is the son of a singer of traditional Peruvian music. In 1990, Juan-Diego Flórez entered the National Conservatory of Music of Peru. In 1994, Juan-Diego Flórez met the Peruvian tenor Ernesto Palacio, who invited him on two recordings and became his mentor. In 1996, while rehearsing a small role of Ricciardo e Zoraide, within the framework of the Rossini Festival in Pesaro, the tenor having to interpret Corradino in Mathilde de Shibran for the same festival fell ill. Juan-Diego Flórez replaces him at short notice. The ensuing success opened the doors to the biggest stages in the world: for example, he made his Paris debut in L’Italienne à Alger in 2000. He marked the history of La Scala in Milan in 2007 by giving a encore of the aria “Ah mes Amis” taken from La Fille du Régiment by Donizetti: no encore had yet sounded at La Scala since 1933. In 2012, very committed to music education in Peru, Juan-Diego Flórez was appointed Unesco Goodwill Ambassador.

Eugène Onéguine - P. I. Tchaïkovski
Some 50 years after the publication of Alexander Pushkin’s verse novel Eugene Onegin, P. I. Tchaikovsky premiered his lyrical opera Onegin at the Maly Theater in Moscow in 1879. The novel is considered a Russian national epic: the complex cultural situation in Russia around 1820, vividly illustrated by the lives of young noblemen in the urban metropolises and at the same time on their traditional country estates, provided ample material for one of the most famous masterpieces by the musical genius Tchaikovsky. Sisters Olga and Tatyana fall in love with friends Lensky and Onegin. While Lensky reciprocates Olga’s feelings sincerely, Onegin shows himself cold and dismissive towards Tatyana’s deep feelings. His honor offended by a misbehavior deliberately provoked by Onegin, Lensky challenges his friend to a duel - and dies. Onegin, who realizes his true love for Tatyana too late, meets her again after years at a ball. Tatyana, meanwhile married to Prince Gremin, rejects Onegin’s advances as a faithful wife. Tormented by delusion and pain, Onegin condemns heaven.

Andris Nelsons
Andris Nelsons was born in Riga in 1978. His mother founded one of the first music orchestras in Latvia and his father was conductor cellist. As a youth, Andris Nelsons studied piano and mastered the trumpet by the age of 12. He also sings as a bass baritone for his mother’s orchestra, and is particularly passionate about early music. Andris Nelsons is studying conducting with Alexander Titov in St. Petersburg. He caught the attention of Mariss Jansons when he was urgently called to the post of 1st trumpet of the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra while on tour. Jansons becomes his mentor and Andris Nelsons has worked with him in conducting since 2002. In 2003 Andris Nelsons was appointed Principal Conductor of the Latvian National Orchestra and remained in office for four years. His passion for opera led him to conduct large orchestras such as the Birmingham Symphony Orchestra or the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra as well as major events such as the Bayreuth Festival or the New Year’s concert in Vienna.
