Sol Gabetta, born April 18, 1981 in Córdoba, Argentina, is an Argentinian cellist who lives and teaches in Switzerland. She collaborates with the most renowned orchestras and conductors around the world. In June 2006, Sol Gabetta launched the Solsberg Festival (in Olsberg, in the canton of Aargau, in Switzerland, her adopted country). For this chamber music festival, she invites her friends, relatives and renowned musicians for eight to ten concerts every year. Sol Gabetta also launched the “Cappella Gabetta”: a baroque orchestra performing Antonio Vivaldi and his contemporaries, conducted by violinist Andrés Gabetta, her brother.
