Hamburg
Hamburg, nicknamed “the Beauty of the North” due to its many canals, is a city brimming with artistic and architectural creativity. The futuristic Elbphilharmonie building is a symbol of this and has become a must-see attraction. As for the Staatsoper, it is renowned for the quality of its programme, its productions and its ballets.

The 2026–2027 season at the Staatsoper Hamburg opens with five new productions: Macbeth, featuring the duo Nino Machaidze and Simon Keenlyside, Petrushka & L’Enfant et les sortilèges, E. Humperdinck’s Sleeping Beauty, William Tell, with Lisette Oropesa and Jacques Imbrailo, and Eugene Onegin.
The Elbphilharmonie, meanwhile, celebrates its tenth anniversary in January 2027 and brings together, for this new season, some of the greatest artists on the international stage, including Joyce DiDonato, Diana Damrau, Augustin Hadelich, Seong-Jin Cho, Evgeny Kissin and Sir András Schiff.
