The 2026-2027 season at the Bavarian State Opera promises to be particularly enticing, featuring a program encompassing the great repertoire, refined bel canto, new productions, and Wagnerian works.

Among the most anticipated new productions in the first half of the season are Wagner’s Siegfried, Donizetti’s Maria Stuarda, and Adams’s Doctor Atomic, presented here for the first time.
New productions in the second half of the season include Tchaikovsky’s Mazeppa, Gluck’s Orfeo ed Euridice, Massenet’s Werther, and Britten’s Death in Venice, presented at the Prinzregententheater. The season concludes with the final installment of the Ring Cycle, Götterdämmerung, directed by Tobias Kratzer, a highlight of the Summer Festival.
